Licenses Defined

Learn more about the different types of licenses we offer for products on FilterGrade (https://filtergrade.com/shop/). For most use cases as an individual, the Personal license is great. But if you’d like to use a filter, preset, action, effect, overlay, template, or digital file you have purchased in a commercial capacity, it’s best to go for the Commercial or Extended license. Read the full definitions of each license below.

Personal License

Our original, standard license for digital products and assets purchased on FilterGrade.

This license grants you, the purchaser, an ongoing, non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide license to make use of the filter, preset, action, effect, overlay, template, or digital file you have purchased.

This license is for one copy (one seat, or one usage at any one time) of the filter, preset, action, effect, overlay, template, or digital file installed on up to 3 of your personal computers or devices. These can include mobile devices and smartphones.

Commercial License

Our new, commercial license for digital products, stock footage, sound effects, and assets purchased on FilterGrade.

This license grants you, the purchaser, an ongoing, non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide license to make use of the filter, preset, action, effect, overlay, template, or digital file you have purchased within your personal and commercial works.

This license is for one copy (one seat, or one usage at any one time) of the filter, preset, action, effect, overlay, template, or digital file installed on up to 3 of your computers/devices.

This license allows for unlimited usage on web and digital advertisements, unlimited usage for business social media accounts, and up to 1,000,000 lifetime viewers for streaming/broadcasting. This license allows for usage in physical advertisements with local markets only. For unlimited usage in physical formats worldwide, get the Extended License.

This license does not allow usage in browser tools, games, or mobile apps. For advanced licensing and usage in apps/games, please contact us: [email protected]

This license allows you to use the digital product to create up to 10,000 combined total Physical/Digital End Products. End Products being edited photos, designs, graphics, videos, or other visuals.

You can sell End Products created using our filters, presets, actions, effects, overlays, templates, or digital files to any number of people. As explained further on, the End Products must not contain the filter, preset, action, effect, overlay, template, or digital file. Meaning you could sell an edited photo to a client, or you could sell a stock photo edited with FilterGrade presets, filters, LUTs, etc., but you couldn’t sell a product that includes any of the downloaded files from FilterGrade. For example the action files (.atn), the preset files (.xmp), LUTs, templates, etc.

You can’t re-distribute our filters, presets, actions, effects, overlays, templates, or digital files. For example if you purchase a digital product from FilterGrade you can’t share the files with a friend. They’ll need to purchase their own personal, commercial, or extended license.

You can’t incorporate or distribute the filters, presets, actions, effects, overlays, templates, or digital files with an End Product. But you may link the users of the End Product to where they can directly license the digital product.

This basically means you can’t include the action files or preset files in a file you are selling or sharing, but you can link them to the FilterGrade page where they would get it from.

Finally, this license can be terminated at any time, if you breach it. If that happens, you must stop using the Tool or App and delete it from your computers.

Extended License

The extended license for digital products, stock footage, sound effects, and assets purchased on FilterGrade.

This license grants you, the purchaser, an ongoing, non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide license to make use of the filter, preset, action, effect, overlay, template, or digital file you have purchased within your personal and commercial works.

This license is for one copy (one seat, or one usage at any one time) of the filter, preset, action, effect, overlay, template, or digital file installed on up to an unlimited number of your teams computers/devices.

This license allows for unlimited usage on web and digital advertisements, unlimited usage for business social media accounts, and unlimited lifetime viewers for streaming/broadcasting. This license also allows for unlimited usage in physical advertisements worldwide.

This license allows usage in one browser tool, game, or mobile app with up to 500,000 end users. For advanced licensing and usage in multiple apps/games or larger applications, please contact us: [email protected]
